Natural Hairversary! One whole year Natural!

Hey my people!!

So it has been a minute since I've posted, I have been stuck with Man Flu (yeah, I know, I'm a woman, I should suck it up. But I'm a baby!)

Now I'm back and ready to post again! A Facebook memory reminded me that this week is my hairversary! It has been a whole year since by big chop, after 9 months transitioning. A whole year being completely natural! I can't believe it!

So this week I thought it was about time I took out the Crochet braids and see what I'm working with.

I'm so amazed with the growth I had to share it with you all!

So here is a year of Natural hair!

BIG CHOP!!
After transitioning for 9 months, enough was enough, I wanted to be natural already. I headed to my hairdressers and told her to chop it. That she did!

1st wash and go
Day one of being completely natural. Shrinkage is no joke. My hair looks only 1/2 an inch long!

February 2015 - 1 year post relaxer, 3 months fully natural
In February, my hair was finally long enough to do a twist out. I was so happy with my first attempt

June 2015 - another twist out
I protected my hair for a few months with tree braids. It made such a difference to the length. I had to do another twist out!

starting to look like Richard prior!
In September my hair was getting to the awkward Richard prior length. Twist outs didn't have the same umph. I started to despair and contemplate a relaxer again

hair up and a full glam face!
Luckily I was able to put my hair in a ponytail, but it looked tiny, so needed the help of a Afro off wig. Love the results!

Wash and go! where did all this hair come from!!
After 2 months of Crochet braids, the length of my hair is unbelievable my hair is now chin length curly. I love my natural curl and I love my fro!!

Will be doing a straight hair length check this week, before I tuck the fro back in for the winter with tree braids!

Watch out for my length check!!

Until next time xx
