Model Behaviour Part 2: Making history with beautiful women

Hey peeps!

So I had one of the best weekends ever! Saturday, little old me took part in one of Europe's largest plus size fashion photo shoots ever! This was all thanks to the very classy and elegant brand that is 'Scarlett and Jo'.

I was up bright, well probably not so bright, but definitely early to head over tot he capital and volunteer as tribute.

London Bridge was the site where over 100 beautiful women came together to make history. Our mutual goal was to pose and model in Europe's largest ever plus size photo shoot. I have to say, I was absolutely awe stuck with the beauty surrounding me. I have to admit, I was seriously fangirling for most of the day. I couldn't wait to meet the girls from the Rubenesque effect (some of whom I already know and love!) and the girls from Ms Curvaceous uk.

So we call had the task to model 2 outfits, but in true Scarlett and Jo fashion, it wasn't just a matter of taking a few pictures and being on your way. Of course not! Gifi and his team had us feeling like serious models, with studio, location and video shoots. If i am completely honest, at first I was completely intimidated. I am not a professional model by any means, but I love the experience, so I went there for exactly that. To meet people and experience something I never thought I would ever.

I have no idea why I felt intimidated at all! From the time I arrived, I was made to feel very welcome. There were hair stylists an make up artists on hand to make us all look glam. As you can image though, with the amount of women there to model, there was no way I was going to wait forever to get sorted. Instead I opted to pop on my Grey wig and try my hand at strobing for a fresh, youthful look.

After we registered our attendance and was given a surprise good bag, we had to either head to hair and make up or, like me it was done already, go and check out our outfits.

I had the pleasure of modelling a couple of their day, skater style dresses and i felt like a million quid. The cut was so flattering. One of the dresses was a square scoop style neck, perfect for a conservative lunch date, afternoon tea or a wedding reception. I felt so girlie in this and spent most of my time twirling like a little girl, pretending to be a princess.

The skirt design was very similar to this one. Unfortunately I didn't get enough time to take a selfie in it as everything was a little bit of a rush.

I can see this dress looking amazing on absolutely anyone. It cinches in at the waist and poofs at the bottom to give a great hourglass look. I never knew whether vintage would really suit me, but I fell in love with this one.

My absolute favourite was this one. It is a very similar design, but instead of a scoop neck, the girls were completely on show! The neckline is extremely low (thank god I bought a plunge bra with me). I definitely felt very exposed in it, but it wasn't in a self conscious way at all. It was beautifully flattering. I love the black and white design. This dress was more of an a line skirt, which allowed my curves to poop through a little more. I felt completely safe in it. There was no risk of my falling out at all. I wanted to stay in this all day. This dress would be the prefect date dress for sure. I felt sexy, sassy and classy all at once. Even with the girls out on show, I did not feel even a tiny bit trashy.  Scarlett and Jo know exactly how to work with a woman's curves.

I was also watching very closely what the other girls were wearing, and saw a couple  of outfits right up my street. I fell in love with a duster shirt dress one of the Rubenesque effect girls modelled.  I loved it so much, I ended up buying two. ( I know I have a problem!). There was also a stunning tuxedo maxi dress modelled, but I could not find that on the website. I believe it was a couture piece. I'm still dreaming about it a week later!

After modelling and being pampered all day, we were all treated to a prosecco and cupcake wrap party,  a Scarlett and Jo post shoot tradition. They went down a real treat.

I have to say that even though they have been in the middle of their share of backlash, I found them so accommodating and sweet. It was an awesome and tiring day and one I would do again and again if I am ever given the chance.

I whole purpose of the day was for them to find their new face of the brand. For me the day itself was enough and the fact that I was able to meet so many wonderful people.

I absolutely loved the day and the chance to feel like a model and do what I love, wear clothes!

Thank you Scarlet and Jo for putting on such an amazing day!

Definitely a day for the history books!!
